Sallork Legal and Compliance provides advisory and knowledge services to businesses primarily in the international energy sector. As a small independent consultancy, we provide advice to clients seeking support in legal, contract and compliance matters, as well as offering related training courses and mentoring services. We look to not only provide immediate advice and problem solving on legal and compliance matters but to engage in knowledge transfer to deliver long term benefits to clients and their employees as they seek to grow their businesses. We offer complete flexibility according to clients' particular needs and can work on projects in our offices, or at the client's workplace or operational worksites, including internationally.

Who We Are

Sallork Legal and Compliance is operated by Elaine and Richard Mays. Elaine is a qualified solicitor in Scotland and has previously served as Chief Compliance Officer for various FTSE 250 and other listed companies - Seadrill, Wood Group plc, and Contour Global plc . She previously worked in international energy sector companies such as Baker Hughes, Vetco Gray and Technip Offshore. She has provided compliance services for other leading companies. Elaine also has a Masters degree in Employment Law. Richard was formerly Professor in Law and Depute Dean of the Aberdeen Business School. Richard is a qualified solicitor in Scotland. He has served in several senior/ leading roles in the oil and gas industry. including Oilexco North Sea, Peppercoast Petroleum plc, Black Star Petroleum plc, DEO Petroleum plc, and Prospex Energy plc. He has previously provided legal consultancy and training services to a large number of oil and gas sector businesses.


Knowledge Services

Sallork provides tailored, practical training to professionals and businesses worldwide. Courses are designed after careful discussion with the client to address specific needs or organisational goals. Fundamental to each course is the objective of individual and organisational development. Richard has previously provided training to over 800 oil and gas industry professionals at all levels. He has delivered training in Aberdeen, London, Dubai, Norway and the Far East. Throughout her senior career, Elaine has developed and delivered Ethics and Compliance training, designed to enhance company culture and reduce organisational risk.

Recognising that clients often seek interim support, Sallork provides legal and compliance consultancy services at the client's workplace or at a place designated by the client. This can deliver a cost effective solution for clients seeking to supplement their in-house resource or to address a particular interim need.
